Aug 28

蜜桃视频鈥檚 longtime partnership with the International Textile Group (ITG) continues to grow, as the College will be providing $33,843 in state-funded training for 70 employees. Some of the training will include operation of new equipment the Cordova plant is purchasing for increased efficiency in its production lines.蜜桃视频 will be providing customized training for ITG to help improve efficiency in its production lines. ITG recently purchased new looms that will increase the diversity in the product line, said Ed Cox, ITG plant manager.

鈥淭oday鈥檚 looms are more computerized and have more capabilities than the older models,鈥 Cox said. 鈥淭hey can produce from a super thin thread to a super thick thread. The set-up and transition for different products will also be easier with these looms.鈥

Cox said the new looms would allow ITG to be more competitive in today鈥檚 market place, so training for the plant鈥檚 workforce in this new technology is vital for ITG.

鈥淢any of our employees have been working here for many years and are used to the process with our old looms, so we look forward to partnering with 蜜桃视频 on this customized training,鈥 Cox said.

Other training employees will receive includes classes on first aid, supervisory skills, lock out/tag out, general safety and OSHA regulations, and Microsoft Excel.

Dr. Dale McInnis, 蜜桃视频 president, said he views support of economic development as a primary function of the College.

鈥淲e welcome the opportunity to connect ITG with the state funds and the means to advance the skill set of its workforce,鈥 said McInnis. 鈥淲e want to help ITG grow and be competitive in today鈥檚 global economy, because their success brings more jobs to our community, and at 蜜桃视频, we are in the business of putting people in jobs.鈥
